About Jasmine Keane

About the artist...

Brenda Morrison is a lampworker who has been creating groovy glass beads on a live torch for almost twenty years. Her adventures in fire began at a weekend class that turned into a hobby which turned into a passion that she has been obsessed with ever since. Brenda melts glass rods over a flame, wrapping the molten glass around treated steel mandrels, winding and using gravity to create one bead at a time.

Brenda travels all over the country showing her work at art shows and craft fairs (check out her show schedule.) At a show, jewelry isn't displayed in glass cases, instead it is out in the open where people can touch & feel the beads. Nothing makes Brenda happier than a customer who delights in the visual and tactile experience of her work. Hearing someone say "this is so cool!" as they move the glass beads in their hands is the ultimate compliment.

Handmade objects always have a story. They have a real character and charm over mass-produced items. When I shop, I like having a personal connection with the person who made an item & I hope my customers feel the same way.

Jasmine Keane was Brenda's chubby orange cat.

Jasmine had Brenda's husband’s last name & her own checking account. She paid her vet bills with her own credit card!
